Overview of Technology Risk Management

Presented by:
Timothy M. Grace, CISA, CIA, CISM
Director, Technology Risk Management
Jefferson Wells

In today’s world information technology is used by virtually all businesses. Technology is essential to a businesses competitive edge. The better technology is managed and controlled, the better the competitive edge. In today's business world, risk management can not be seen as an insurance protection. Business processes, company resources, business and information systems, and local area networks are interrelated to achieve cost efficiencies. When a problem hits one area, the effect is felt across the enterprise. This session will provide an overview of risk management, how risk management works within information technology, what are the key areas to be concerned with when implementing, assessing and developing a risk program and how risk management relates to technology. We will review risk from an IT Audit, Information Security, Business Continuity and IT Governance view point.
