Cyber Crime

At our meeting on March 24th Scott plans to talk about Cyber Crime with an emphasis on what can happen if you don't take preventive measures, such as those discussed by Shawn Travers of Microsoft at the February 17th meeting. In essence, Scott will focus on how cyber crime can impact you. Scott will also discuss wireless technologies and the prosecution of cyber criminals.

Scott D. Aken
Federal Bureau of Investigation

Scott D. Aken has been a Special Agent of the Federal Bureau of Investigation for two years. He is assigned to the Computer and Cyber Crime Unit in St. Louis and concentrates on computer intrusions and intellectual property crimes.

Prior to joining the FBI, Mr. Aken spent nine years working in the computer and Internet industry in the Washington DC area. Most recently, he was working at Network Solutions and VeriSign where he was the Vice President of Product Development and Product Management. Prior to Network Solutions and VeriSign, he spent four years working with General Electric and is a graduate of GE's Manufacturing Management Program.

Mr. Aken was born and raised in Fostoria, Ohio and is a graduate of The Ohio State University. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering.
