January 2006
We are now in the second month of 2006 and we are welcoming all of you technology folks out there to come to our Chapter meetings. This month we are proud to partner with Cisco Systems and bring you an excellent presentation. Greg Poynter of Cisco is presenting "How Technology is Used Within Cisco".
Harman Cheema is the Cisco Systems Engineer who has attended our meetings and become interested in what AITP is doing here in St Louis. She arranged to have Greg be our featured speaker on February 23. Cisco Systems is hosting and sponsoring the meeting at their offices. They are located at 400 South Woods Mill Commons Road, Chesterfield, MO 63017. Plan to arrive by 5:30p and we will have our social hour and enjoy softdrinks. There will be Pizza, Lasagna and Salad. The speaker will begin between 6:30 and 7:00 p.m.
The St Louis Chapter is enjoying providing excellent presentations for our membership and guests. We are focused on our Student members from Washington University, SouthEast Missouri State, Southwestern Illinois College, UMSL, ITT, Missouri Tech, and Southern Illinois University (Edwardsville, and Carbondale). We can look into the future and see the Computer Science students and other IT students as the functioning members in future years.
Companies like Data Dash and SyllogisTeks have been very generous in supporting our students. Microsoft and Cisco Systems have partnered with AITP to provide support as well. Our membership is mentoring its student chapters and all the students participating in AITP these past years. We are proud of our future and we see the futures of these students as so bright it burns our eyes! IT professionals from every walk and career path come to share their experiences and allow us to be there for them.
Our upcoming meetings are promising to be exciting and informative. I look forward to seeing you at Cisco on Thursday, February 23, 2006.
