Association of Information Technology - St. Louis Chapter

From Our Chapter President

January 2006

From The Desk of Sharon Scoby...

Happy New Year! We have decided to continue holding our meetings at the former Holiday Inn, Westport, which is now owned by the Doubletree/Hilton. The cost of the dinners has increased so there will be an increase in the cost of the monthly meeting.

We have noticed that there is strong support for the current location. We want to provide an excellent presentation each month, the opportunity for networking and lastly a good meal without compromising the quality of services.

We appreciate the support of our members and the IT community who does not have membership but loyal participation and regular attendance. We continue to look for venues that can provide what we want without compromising what we currently have. Last August MicroSoft sponsored and hosted our meeting at their location. That meeting was well attended and we are planning to provide the same again for you this year. In February Cisco is providing sponsorship and is hosting the meeting at their Offices in West County. We will only charge $15.00 as we did with the MicroSoft presentation.

We will look for ways to control the meeting costs while continuing to provide you with the same quality of program. We encourage you to stay loyal to the St Louis AITP and support our meetings. We promise to provide you with enjoyable, educational and stimulating presentations. On Jan 26 we are bringing you a compelling presenter with an interesting topic by Tom Smith of Ispirian. Please note inside this newsletter for a summary of the presentation and for our 2006 rate structure.

At our December Board of Directors meeting the following Officers and Chapter Chairs were awarded an appreciation certificate and I want to take this opportunity to thank this great team for the support and excellent work they provided for the 2005 year. We are challenged to continue to offer the Chapter our dedication and commitment as we did last year:

Thanks to a Great Team!!
