And you thought elections were all over. Not quite!! The United States has a President for the next 4 years but St. Louis AITP doesn't have one for next year. Therefore, on November 18th, the third Thursday of November, St. Louis AITP will be holding an election for President and our other officers. Be there and do your organizational duty and vote.

At our last meeting of 2004, November 18th, Mr. Randall Hauch, Vice President of Metamatrix will speak on Eclipse and the surge in popularity of Web development. Metamatrix is a leading provider of Enterprise Information Integration & Enterprise Metadata Management software. See the meetings page for more information about the presentation and the speaker.

On October 28th Mr. Milan A. Paddock, a Certified Business Continuity Professional, talked about keeping a business going after suffering a disaster. Mr. Paddock discussed many different aspects of a disaster and how companies coped more or less successfully. I think we all felt a little less secure with our own disaster plans and made a bunch of mental notes of things to check on Friday.

Soon we will be voting on new officers who will be appointing new committee chairs. Sue Morton graciously accepted leadership of the nominations committee and reported a slate of nominees at the October meeting. It's not too late for you to step up and be nominated by a friend or even by your self. Hopefully you will step up to a governance position in YOUR organization. If you would like to become an officer plan to be at the November meeting and get your name in nomination.

The AITP National Conference and Annual Meeting of the Members took place with ISECON in Newport, Rhode Island November 4 to 7. Sue Morton, our past-president and a National Board member, was present at these sessions. I am sure Sue will report on some of the exciting things that are happening at the National level of our organization.

Come, vote and become informed on Web development on the 18th. We'll be there looking for you!
