Watch out! Be prepared! The season of mischief is afoot. With Halloween lurking in the shadows we thought you might need a little advice on protecting yourselves from demons in your data, goblins in your Gateway, or spiders in your system.

Accordingly, on October 28th Mr. Milan A. Paddock, a Certified Business Continuity Professional, will be talking to us about keeping a business going with disaster recovery. Mr. Paddock is president of his own company which specializes in planning for disaster recovery and then assists with it if necessary. See the meeting section of this newsletter for more information about the presentation and the speaker.

Our September meeting featured an excellent presentation on managed services. Suresh Mandava and Bill Reeves from VistaWiz, a St. Louis-based technology company, talked about a method to provide these services in a novel, reliable, and cost-effective way.

Soon we will be voting on new officers, who will be appointing new committee chairs. Sue Morton has graciously accepted leadership of the nominations committee and will be reporting at the October meeting. Hopefully you will step up to a governance position in YOUR organization. If you would like to become an officer, please inform Sue or any of the current officers and your name will be placed on the ballot or given to the new officers as a potential committee member/chair. Sue's number is (314) 832-5788

We know that the National Conference and Annual Meeting of the Members is going to take place with ISECON in Newport, Rhode Island November 4 to 7. Attendance at all AITP functions is free for members of AITP except for food costs. Attendance at ISECON functions will carry a charge.

Don't be afraid to come to see us on the 28th….. we'll be looking for you!
